Archna P. Johar, M.D is a Cornea Surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of Cataracts and Corneal Disease.

During her residency at the IOVS, Dr. Johar had intensive training at University Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center and a tertiary referral institute for the State of New Jersey, in diagnosing and treating ocular diseases and emergencies. Additionally, Dr. Johar had the opportunity to participate in many innovative research studies, and her work was presented at national conferences (see her Curriculum Vitae).

She further honed her expertise during her fellowship at Shands Hospital and the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Hospital (VA). This VA hospital has the busiest ophthalmology department and annually performs the most number of cataract surgeries in the entire VA System. At Shands Hospital, she was a Clinical Instructor and taught advanced no-stitch cataract surgery to ophthalmology residents. Her education also included training at the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, FL in a wide array of advanced technology, including the STAAR Visian Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL), limbal relaxing incisions, the Intralase Femtosecond Laser, the VISX Excimer Laser, and the WaveLight® Allegretto Wave® Eye-Q Laser.

Dr. Johar is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a Fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology. She also maintains membership in the Cornea Society and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

Dr. Johar is available for consultation on small incision, no stitch, no needle cataract surgery, with premium lens implants such as the ReSTOR® and the Crystalens®.
