Margaret A. Marcone, O.D. has been with Connecticut Eye Consultants since November 1996. During her tenure, she has developed her interest in specialty contact lenses and Pediatric/Strabismic treatment. She works closely with all of the specialists at Connecticut Eye Consultants. Dr. Marcone has participated in numerous clinical research projects, including those involving glaucoma, dry eye, and retinal disease. Additionally, she has presented to peer groups and medical support staff on the treatment and care of the pediatric population. She is the practice’s principal advisor relating to medically necessary contact lens fittings.
Before joining Connecticut Eye, she collaborated with Beth Israel Medical Center’s Department of Ophthalmology, in New York City, where she provided primary eye care as well as pre and post-operative care for strabismus patients. Dr. Marcone also taught fourth-year optometric students, as well as lecturing to first-year ophthalmology residents at Beth Israel’s Pediatric and Strabismus clinic.
Dr. Marcone holds a Doctorate in Optometry from the SUNY College of Optometry and holds a Bachelors of Science Degree from Pace University, where she graduated Cum Laude. She has published research articles as well as several journal articles on general optometric care.
