Glaucoma & Cataract Specialist
CEC Partner Since 1995
Dr. Altman is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and cataracts. He performs state-of-the-art surgery, including laser-assisted cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.
Dr. Altman holds a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Wesleyan University (with Phi Beta Kappa honors) and an M.D. from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his surgical internship at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, his glaucoma research fellowship at the Scheie Eye Institute in Philadelphia, and his residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Altman then completed the prestigious glaucoma fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
As part of the Connecticut Eye Consultants team, Dr. Altman has participated in groundbreaking research studies. Most recently, his work has contributed to the FDA approval of the new Durysta implant for glaucoma, which provides patients with an alternative to daily eyedrops in their treatment.
“During my nearly 30 years with Connecticut Eye, I have been able to develop a challenging but fulfilling practice due largely to our patients, who appreciate the team effort approach of our office,” he says.
Dr. Altman sees patients in our main office in Danbury. To make an appointment, please call (203) 791-2020.
