Types of Contact Lenses

Many types of contact lenses are available. The type of contacts you use depends on your particular situation. Your eye doctor will be able to help choose from the following types of lenses.

These are disposed of everyday. Remove lens out of the blister pack. Insert in the morning, take out sometime before bed and throw away each day, no cleaning. This is repeated any day you want to wear your contacts.

These are available in single vison, toric and multifocal designs.

These are inserted in the morning, worn during the day, taken out sometime before bed, cleaned and left in the case overnight in contact lens solution. This process will be repeated daily for 2 week. After 2 weeks begin with a new pair.

These are available in single vison, toric and multifocal designs.

These lenses are worn during the day, taken out sometime before bed, cleaned and left in the case overnight in contact lens solution. This process is repeated daily for 1 month. After 1 month begin with a new pair.

These are available in single vision, toric and multifocal designs.

This type of lens in today’s market is primarily used for patients with certain medical issues, like Keratoconus. These are hard contact lenses that are worn during the day, taken out sometime before bed, cleaned and left in the case over night in contact lens solution (a special type for this lens). When it is time to put them on your eye you will apply a special conditioning solution to the lens and then place the lens on to your eye. These will last for as long as they stay in wearable condition, no replacement requirements.
